Thunderbird Resort

Last Saturday, we were invited by Tumak (short for Tito Mckoi or Uncle Mckoi) and Tita Cookie (or Aunt Cookie) to join them at Thunderbird Resorts the following day for an afternoon of swimming. I jumped at the chance to hit the pools with Monch. We had been at the posh resort for New Year's Eve and we had a good time.

Sunday came around and we were told to pack for an overnight stay. Monch's dad didn't want to stay the night so he decided to just cancel our participation. But almost as soon as he had decided to cancel, he withdrew his decision and told me to pack for the night.

We left Valle Verde II a little after noon. We stopped at Shakey's for lunch and got to the resort a little after 2pm. Turns out we were early still too early to check in so we had to wait a few minutes while they prepared our room. We finally hit the pools at around 3:30.

The resort has three pools - a kiddie pool, a warm water jacuzzi, and an infinity pool. On our last visit, I only got to try the kiddie pool. On this visit, I made it a point to try out all three. Monch and I stayed in the kiddie pool for safety reasons. When his daddy arrived to join us, I left them in the kiddie pool and tried the infinity pool. The crowd had pretty much died down so I was able to do one or two laps. I didn't push myself beyond that because to say I was out of practice would be an understatement. Lastly, all of us decided to try the warm water jacuzzi. We stayed there the longest. The bubbles were enjoyed by the kids and adults alike.

That evening, we had some drinks by the poolside bar. The prices were reasonable and the staff was very attentive.

We left early Monday morning because they had work and summer classes. But not after some tears from Monch's three year old cousin. She didn't want to leave the "Eagle with a T".
