Hotel H2O on Philippine Independence Day

We were able to get a reservation at Hotel H2O for last Sunday. It was also the Philippine Independence Day.

The room we got was the hotel's famous Aqua Room. It is described as an aquarium themed room. After reading several reviews, though, I was convinced that one wall was an aquarium. When we got to the room, the reviews were right. The upper part of the room's back wall was a real live saltwater aquarium. Monch was in awe. And, well, so was I.

They provided a remote control for drapes to cover the aquarium wall in case you preferred or needed a dark room. This was convenient during Monch's nap time. In the evening, the aquarium lights are turned off at 9pm and turned back on at 6am.

Yes, the room was small. But the bed was king sized, soft, and warm with down feather blankets. Yes, the glass walled bathroom provided little to no privacy depending on what you were doing there. But it was very stylish. Yes, the fridge only had water and soda. But everything was complimentary, including the snacks provided.

Monch and I took a dip in the hotel's pools. Locker rentals were only p50. We also gave their zorb a go. It was an additional p100.

We got complimentary tickets to the musical light show. Baby daddy passed on that activity, too. It was my first time to watch a musical light show. I was impressed. However, the program was not my cup of tea. The three starfish got on my nerves. But the show held Monch's attention.

The evening was spent in nearby Malate. The following morning spent in bed until we had to get ready to check out.

It was a relaxing stay.
