Separation Of Church And State

My understanding of separation of church and state, in simple terms, is the state takes care us during our life on earth (security, economy, health, etc) while the church takes care of our life after death (salvation, entry to land with a river of milk and honey, a better life upon reincarnation, etc).

Will same sex marriage endanger the lives of the Filipino? I don't see how. So, why can't we legalize it?

Will artificial birth control methods (aka contraception) put the Filipino in harm's way? I don't think so. Then why doesn't it have the government's full support?

Will birth control and same sex marriage guarantee eternal damnation of the soul? That is no longer the government's concern.
