Paper Monsters

I first got into the platform genre games when I spent a night at my cousin's place playing Little Big Planet with my nieces.

Since it isn't available in the app store, I have been searching for platform games that are like it.

A week or two ago, I came across Paper Monsters. And although I've been stuck for over a week at this one part, I'm very happy with the game.

There are three game options - the main adventure in Paperland, the bonus game Drag 'n Dash, and the recently added seasonal game Heartbreak Shakedown.

Paperland
The main adventure has four chapters (or worlds) of four levels each. The levels and chapters increase in difficulty and I'm currently stuck in the second level of the third chapter.

Any tips on how to get past this level will be greatly appreciated.

In Paperland, there are three yellow buttons in every level. These buttons can be used in the store for accessories for your character. Once you've collected the yellow button in that level, you won't be able to collect them when you re-play the level.

There are also three strategically positioned paperclips in every level. These paperclips are bonus scores. You can collect the paperclips every time you play to help you get a higher score.

There are also numerous small grey buttons that you collect along the way. For every 50 gray buttons, you get a bonus yellow button.

Drag 'n Dash
In Drag 'n Dash, you just go as far as you can, collecting as many buttons as you can.

Heartbreak Shakedown
I haven't had a chance to play this mini game yet since it requires that the Paperland adventure has been completed. I'll keep you posted.

There have been several complaints on the controls. There are two options, either a virtual joystick or a classic touchpad. Personally, I prefer the classic touchpad where I just press the arrow (left or right) of the direction I want to go. The virtual joystick is a cool idea but I don't like having to move my finger back each time I reach the middle of the screen.

I think I'll try to get past the stage that's got me stuck now.
