We left Pasig at 10am. Two gas station stops, a wrong turn, a meal, individual tantrums from the three kids and five hours later, we arrived at Tubag's place. We were gonna be accommodated at his staffhouse while the staff were away for the long weekend.
There were ample sleeping quarters, ample bathrooms, a big dining table, cable tv, and two swimming pools. Chilling in the pool on Tubag's inflatable floating device made the pain in my butt cheek worth it.
I was uncomfy here. I felt like Monch and I would fall into the pool. |
Dinner was particularly special. There was so much food! (I love food!) There was lechon kawali, Bataan style sisig, ampalaya salad and grilled chicken (which was snubbed). I was challenged to try the ampalaya salad and was pleasantly surprised to find myself liking it. But what really made dinner special was that we all ate together. Although Monch had fallen asleep, I was wearing him.
We left the staffhouse on Sunday before lunch. We went around Bataan for a quick guided tour by Tubag. Too bad it was raining. We missed out on a lot of sights and photo opportunities.
On the ride home, we rode with Monch's youngest uncle and his girlfriend. It was uneventful, which is a good thing.
We will come back to visit Tubag in Bataan again.
