My Spa Experience

I am a sucker for massages. I used to spend a lot of time at the spa before I found out I was pregnant. The operative words being used to. That was it, the last time I got a decent massage was before I found out I was pregnant. That's almost two years ago.

I lift and carry my 20 lbs baby every day! It's not like I'm at the peak of my youth. So, needless to say, I have been having aches and pains all over... And I've developed an addiction to chili plasters. (Yup, I gave up my Salonpas addiction for chili plasters. I'm in the big league now.)

Anyway, about a week or two ago, my baby daddy surprised me with a voucher for a body scrub and massage at The Spa Indulgencia in St. Francis Square. I was touched by this simple act. I was a bit hesitant though about the establishment. First, I had never heard of The Spa Indulgencia before. Second, well, how do I put this nicely? St. Francis Square is not really the classiest mall around. To add to my hesitations, I couldn't get through the their numbers to make an appointment.

Last Sunday, when we went out for lunch, I decided to just drop by the place and make the appointment in person. Wow! Another surprise. When you step into their place, it's like you weren't in St. Francis Square. Please don't get me wrong, I'm no elitist. In fact, I frequent the place. I'm just saying that I would have never thought of getting pampered at St. Francis Square. So, it was set, my appointment would be the next morning.

I cannot describe the service I got. No amount of words will give it justice. I wonder why I never got a body scrub before. And the girl, Judith, she was great. My left shoulder is probably the most stressed part of my body since I usually carry Monch with that arm, and she spent a lot of time on it. It was just... Aaaahhhhh....

I felt so good after that I didn't stress too much when baby daddy called asking me to rush home because Monch would not stop crying. The body scrub took an hour. The massage was an hour, too. Plus travel time. I think that's the longest Monch has ever been away from me.

Yes, I will be getting more massages. And yes, I will be going back to The Spa Indulgencia.
