Pregnant Thoughts

When we got back to Manila, I wasn't feeling well again. Titor suggested I was pregnant. I got to thinking, I've been waiting for my period for at least two weeks now. I was debating with myself whether or not to get a home pregnancy test - such a waste of money if it's negative, which it probably will be anyway. When I got to the office, I decided I might as well, if I'm not pregnant maybe i'm menopausal.
I took the test... I couldn't believe it! I thought it was never
gonna happen to me. I was jumping in the cubicle! I almost shouted with joy. I wanted to tell everyone, but Titor should be the first to know and I wanna be completely sure the hpt results are accurate. I texted Titor. I'll go to Maxicare and confirm this tomorrow. In the meantime, I've got this silly grin pasted on my face.

Just came from the Maxicare clinic. The sonographer showed me baby. It's confirmed. I called momm, she's so happy!
Based on the ultrasound, I'm due May 22.

Titor hasn't been as excited as me. If anything, he's been pressured. But tonight he said something wonderful. He refered to baby as 'baby ko'.

Titor finally told his family. They accepted the good news. Mamla and Carla kept texting.

I had my second ultrasound today. The nuchal translucency is normal!

Titor woke me up. His ear was pressed against my tummy. He claims he can hear baby's heartbeat.

Baby was lola's good luck charm at the casino. Mine, too. But I played only for an hour then found a corner to read my book and listen to music.
Baby didn't like the seat belt - kept kicking it on our way home.

Baby's a good kid - quite considerate. Yesterday during the power outage, while mom and I were so busy, baby didn't move much. Today while working at Rockledge and after my fall, baby didn't move much either. But when the power came back yesterday, and I was already in bed tonight, that's when baby started moving.

I haven't really been able to sit and read to baby properly the past two days. When I read to baby tonight, baby seemed to enjoy it because baby kept moving.

Nurse Diane was checking baby's heartbeat. She found it then lost it several times, then she said, 'the baby's moving.' After that, baby cooperated.

Baby got valentine's gifts. A onesie from lola, a onesie from daddy and a book from mommy. I started reading the book last night. Baby was still as I did - like baby was paying attention.

This is the first time baby and i have been on our own - neither daddy nor lola can run to our assistance. I can't believe i thought i could raise a child on my own. I'm lucky that i have titor and momm to support me. Baby is lucky to be loved unconditionally this early on.

Just talked to momm... Baby kept moving while we were talking. Come to think of it, when i called and spoke to daddy earlier, baby kept moving, too. I guess baby misses them. I do, too...
Maybe, i shouldn't do this anymore. Well, one more time. Next week, if Jiggy goes to San Diego.
I hope tito henry follows through on the baby sitting stint. Maybe, i'll call him tomorrow.

Today marks my 27th week of pregnancy... And my first day of the third trimester. How did my body celebrate? An awful case of acid reflux and a comeback of the symptoms i had in the first trimester. Don't worry baby, mommy will eat a little but often.

I've been on a movie downloading frenzy on limewire. Tonight i watched The Fast And The Furious. It was towards the climax that I qpaused the movie to count baby's kicks. I got 10 strong, solid kicks in less than a minute.

Daddy texted that he was supposed to move Cola from Dela Rosa to a parking lot but Cola wouldn't start. It was past 6, he had to find a mechanic and Cola is color coded today (Thursday in the Philippines). During this exchange of text messages, I guess baby felt what Daddy was feeling because baby kept kicking. When Daddy texted that all was finally fine, baby mellowed down, too.

I don't know when it started but baby now moves when daddy and I are talking.
I've also started reading another Ramona book outloud to baby. I don't think baby likes it because there's no movement when I'm reading - not like when I was reading The Lightning Theif.

I've been wondering what fetal hiccups felt like. Tonight, I found out. It feels just like a hiccup except that I'm not the one
hiccuping. Hahaha!

I look forward to motion counting and reading aloud to baby
everyday. I feel that we are most connected during these exercises. I get sad thinking how much fun daddy is missing out on because sometimes Lola joins the motion counting activity and we have loads of fun.

I went to downtown LA with Lola and Tita Baby today. We left this morning and got back late afternoon. I did motion counting this morning but after that I guess I didn't really pay as much attention as I normally do to baby and baby's motions. When I settled to do evening motion counts, baby did 10 movements in less than a minute. Heehee... Does this mean baby missed Mommy?

Baby has a stroller! Free from Sierra. But I'm still gonna get the Graco Alano Flip It travel system. Tita Mary said she would give me money for a car seat, I'll add extra to get the travel system.

I woke up at 3am because baby was kicking and moving wildly. Baby kept at it for around 15-20 minutes. I got worried because we took 30+ minutes to finish the motion count this morning. I guess baby got tired, too, because after lunch baby's movements were back to normal.

to d-day. I'm gonna miss baby's movements in my tummy =( but I can't wait to hold baby in my arms, watch baby sleep, take pictures... Such mixed emotions.

Baby likes ice cream! I had two scoops of ice cream and after an hour baby was kicking like crazy! The insides of my tummy started to hurt.

Baby's different movements and their meaning:
• random strong kicks - happy (eg. ice cream) or complaining (eg. i stop doing something, daddy and i end our call, lola removes her hand)
• gentle kicks directed at a certain area - wants whatever is in that area to be removed
• slow, intentional scraping against my tummy - baby is stressed (eg. spicy food, stressful ambiance)

I read my previous entry. Looks like baby is a whiner - like daddy. Hehehe... I guess we'll have to create a positive environment. Daddy's become quite a positive person since I got pregnant so I'm not worried.

I had my first contractiob today. It was like a menstural cramp that moved from the front to my back. I had to sit down. It hurt.

Baby is so cute! Yesterday, Mikayla touched my tummy and felt baby move. Last night and this morning when I was still in bed, baby started moving whenever Mikayla was talking.

We're having dinner at Chili's. A group came in with 4 girls. When they sat down at a table near us, baby started kicking like crazy. If baby is a boy, i guess namamasing na sya.

I bought baby shoes - as in 2 pairs of shoes, one for a boy and one for a girl. They are both absolutely cute!
Namasing nanaman si baby. Lola and I watched Ironman2 and when the chick started her fight scene, baby was kicking with excitement.
Lastly, Lola bought me some scrapbooking stuff. I'll start woking on baby's scrapbook tomorrow.

39 weeks today. I really wanna see my baby, hold baby in my arms... Count the fingers, toes, get the doctor to say baby is perfect... Again my concerns are bugging me. What if baby has down syndrome? What if baby has a clubbed foot? What if I mess up the delivery? What if, what if? I know I'll love my baby regardless, but I don't think I can take other people's reactions. It would hurt me too much too know my baby is being judged.
Lord, I put my baby in your hands. I trust you with the child you have trusted me with. Amen.

I think my water broke! We're on our way to the hospital with Tita Baby.
